Honor Dalrymple received an MEng in civil engineering from the University of Bristol before working as a structural engineer in London. She worked on various high profile buildings including The London Clinic, a private hospital next to Regents Park and Oriel College in Oxford.

Feeling a lack of satisfaction Honor knew she wanted to work on a smaller scale, giving her more control over the project as a whole. This would also give her the chance to work closely with both clients and the materials. With a keen interest in woodwork and interiors, furniture design and making was a natural option for her to turn to. 

Honors was founded by Honor Dalrymple shortly after she graduated as Student of the Year from The Chippendale International School of Design, Restoration and Furniture Making.
